My name is Jen and I am not a farm girl. I am a wife, a mom and a grandma and I just happen to milk a goat each morning. When we bought our property a decade ago my husband got all farmer on me and decided we needed a bunch of animals. I did not like the idea but I rolled with it but not without repeatedly saying, "I'll never be a farm girl!" Yet here we are years later and I am milking a goat and not completely hating it. We also grow a garden, we aren't the best gardeners but we do ok.

 This blog isn't just about raising animals, we also raise kids. We homeschool our twin girls, who just finished second grade. I love to cook, cooking is my thing. I am not afraid of trying new recipes or making a mess in the kitchen. I love finding ways to be frugal, making my own cleaning products, and just got into using essential oils...no I don't sell them I buy them from Amazon. I like to think I'm crafty and often try my hand at crafty little projects like the garden caterpillar the girls and I made.

My husband is newly retired and I have a feeling we have a few adventures in store for us!  I just love my family and all things involved in taking care of them and our home. I hope you enjoy the stories of my everyday life even though I'm not a farm girl.
